Praying Carols on Christmas Eve

O holy night, the stars brightly shining,
The world lay in sin, but You came refining.
Long have we lingered in shadows of fear,
But Your promise whispers, “Hope draws near.”

“Come, Thou long-expected Jesus,” we cry,
Born to deliver, to hear our sigh.
From sins and fears, release us today,
Teach us to trust as we wait and pray.

Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright—
Yet hearts still ache for Your guiding light.
Prince of Peace, still our restless hearts,
Give us Your presence where healing starts.

Joy to the world! The Lord is come,
Yet many still long for the warmth of home.
Break through the dark, let Your love appear,
Help us prepare room for Your reign here.

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
In this waiting, our hearts still swell.
God with us now, You’ve entered our pain,
And one day You’ll wipe every tear again.

Hark! The herald angels sing,
Glory and peace the Christ-child brings.
Though the world groans, our hope remains,
For You are the King who forever reigns.

As shepherds once kept watch by night,
We wait for the dawn of Your holy light.
Teach us to trust, with hearts lifted high,
Messiah, Redeemer, our Savior nigh.

On this Christmas Eve, our prayer ascends:
Help us to hope in the One who defends.
You are the promise our hearts require,
Jesus, our Savior, our soul’s desire.
