Did you know that during my masters of divinity I Did you know that during my masters of divinity I did my final thesis on embodiment? Studying the body throughout all of scripture and throughout church history has been radical for me, helping me to see how much the body matters to God.

And one of the areas where this theology turns up in our cultural life is in how we talk about the unborn. If you agree with the testimony of scripture that the body matters to God, and that every human being from conception to natural death bears the image of God, you can’t help but be robustly pro-life. We may differ on which political policies will be most effective in living out the truth of God’s Word, but we will never fail to proclaim that God is sovereign over the womb, and that his image is beheld in every unborn child (John the Baptist even leapt at the nearness of christ — in the womb!)

I don’t post this thoughtlessly. I am well aware of the number of Christian women who have had abortions and experience great shame over this. That is not my heart here. The gospel does not dump shame on us, but welcomes us to come to Christ with all of our burdens. These truths underpin how we view the body, and these truths also are true of you! If abortion is part of your story, you are no less made in the image of God, the incarnation welcomes you to receive the fullness of the gospel, and resurrection to eternal life in Christ is yours! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ! May we proclaim this loud and clear!

To the woman afraid to start today, for fear she won’t understand what she’s read — start anyway.

To the woman scared to start today, for fear she’s been away too long — start anyway.

To the woman scared to start today, for fear her heart is too broken, and in coming, she will burst apart — start anyway.

To the woman scared she’s too busy and will waste her time her — start anyway.

Come to the fount of living waters, to the God of endless welcome, to the Words of life, to the mercy seat, to the hope of the nations, to the Savior of the world. Do not be afraid — his welcome extends to you. His arms are open to you. Be not slow to bend your knees to him — his nearness is your greatest good.
Has anyone else noticed that groceries cost an arm Has anyone else noticed that groceries cost an arm and a leg lately 🥵 I mean, I KNOW you have. Which just means I’m making little choices these days — like making my favorite fall coffee drinks at home! I recently recreated two of my favorites and after some trial and error, I got them JUST RIGHT 👩‍🍳😘

I used coffee from one of my favorite shops, @tagcoffeeco who gives HALF OF THEIR PROFITS to help kids in their area. Half, guys. HALF!

Diving into writing a new Bible study! Here’s ho Diving into writing a new Bible study! Here’s how I do it ✨

1) select the passage

2) choose the best commentaries

3) read and re-read the passage (in the biblical languages if possible)

4) create an outline

5) write a guided exegesis that leads learners through the passage (show don’t tell)

6) pray, pray, pray some more
Marking the fall season in our home! My girls love Marking the fall season in our home! My girls love to read so we’re fostering that love by taking a few simple steps this fall 🍂

1) Grab some fall books! I have an entire list on my Amazon storefront. These are books that we’ve read multiple years in a row. They’re tried and true favorites! We pack them away when the Christmas season starts and pull them out in September. This ways they’re always special!

2) Add some fun kid friendly fall decor. Just to make her feel special (but not breakable so there’s zero stress)

3) Using what we have to make a cozy reading nook! A blanket from another room, a stuffie from her basket. Simple but makes her feel special!

How do you mark the seasons with little ones? Share in the comments!
You will hear me say it time and time again! You a You will hear me say it time and time again! You are a theologian! Theology is simply a word that refers to what we know and believe about God. So what do you believe about God? Whatever your answer is to that question is your theology! The question is, if you profess to be a Christian, does your theology align with God’s word? As Christians we want to go deep into God’s word, so that what we believe about him aligns with what he says about himself in scripture! The Bible is called gods self revelation, because it is the place where he tells us who he is and what he is like. Ready to go deeper? Don’t miss the free how to study the Bible course by the @biblestudyschoolhouse! It’s pinned at the top of my profile. It’s a great place to start!
