Lower Stimulating Kids Shows We’re Trying

Our family has been on the hunt for some lower-stimulus shows to try! With whining and complaining that came each time screen time was over (usually 4-5pm during the week), I started wondering if it was the kind of shows my girls were watching.

As moms navigating the whirlwind of daily life, finding quality TV shows for our little ones can be a challenge. In a world filled with flashy, fast-paced entertainment, it’s refreshing to discover low-stimulating kids’ TV shows that provide a calm and nurturing environment for our children. These shows offer a gentle pace, simpler visuals, and soothing narratives that can help our kids unwind and engage their minds in a more peaceful way. From timeless classics to thoughtfully crafted new series, we’ve been exploring a variety of programs that not only entertain but also align with our values as Christian parents. Most of these are 90s kids shows! Do you recognize any of them? 🙂

At the heart of our search is a desire to find content that reflects the love, patience, and kindness we strive to teach our children — all of which are virtues of the Kingdom of God. By choosing shows that emphasize these virtues, we can create a media experience that complements our faith and supports our efforts to raise thoughtful, Christ-centered kids. Whether it’s through characters who demonstrate compassion and honesty or storylines that inspire gratitude and humility, these low-stimulating shows provide a serene viewing experience that nurtures both the heart and the mind. Join us as we share some of our favorites and invite you to discover how these gentle programs can become a cherished part of your family’s routine.
