Sunday Morning Pear Bars

My girls utterly reject bruised fruit ? But these tired-looking pears were perfect for making breakfast bars! The recipe is easy peasy and makes a great Sunday morning breakfast on this ministry morning!

4 pears washed and chopped
3 eggs
A splash of vanilla
1.5 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 tbs baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of ground cloves
Pinch of ground ginger
2.5 cups all purpose flour

Blend the eggs, sugar and vanilla well. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Fold in the chopped pears (I don’t peel them, but you could). Pour into a lines 9×13 pan and bake at 350 for 55 mins or until it doesn’t jiggle in the center. Let them cool in a baking rack before slicing! We store them in airtight containers for 3 days, but they never last that long.
