Next week I’m planning on sharing a book I just finished and loved (not quite a full book review, but a hearty recommendation). But what should be next on my list?

Today I did two things I haven’t had much time for lately: I baked bread and made a pretty cheese board for dinner. This is one way we rest each Sunday.

How did we celebrate book launch day? I’ll give you one guess. 😆

I was asked many, many times leading up the book launch how I would celebrate. And honestly? I just wanted close friends and family to share a cheese board and spend time thanking God for his faithfulness. My friend @feathersinournest and sister @dill.emmaline made it happen and I couldn’t be more grateful! I made the biggest cheese board of my life and we ate NEARLY ALL OF IT.

Today this book is launching into the world. Fix Your Eyes was a two-year passion project that lived in my head and heart for some time. I’m deeply humbled and grateful for all who helped it come to life.

Here is what I text to a friend about today:

In some ways it feels like a big day and in other ways it feels like an ordinary day… Which is so appropriate because the message of this book all along has been that our faith works its way into our every day lives. So today I’m thanking God for letting me live out the ordinary message of the gospel in a very typical day as I run errands with Emerson.

He’s in the everyday, ordinary moments. Using and shaping them for his glory. Teaching us and growing us for our good. To him be the glory.
